We thrive on our teamwork and collaborative approach. Our lawyers have a wide range of experience over the course of many years in many different practice areas. We use collaboration and communication to fuel our desire to provide our clients with the best possible service and legal solutions. Regardless of your legal issue and regardless of the lawyer assisting you with that issue, when you come to our firm you receive the combined knowledge and experience of all our lawyers.

Our Approach

Our approach when taking on a new case begins with a detailed discussion to understand the legal issue facing our client and the specialized nuances of the case. From there we thoroughly research and consider the potential avenues to reaching our client’s desired goals and present them with our recommendations for proceeding. We strive to assist our clients in achieving the results they are looking for while keeping their costs down as much as possible. We ensure that our clients are fully apprised of their legal options before making decisions on how to proceed. Once our clients decide how they wish to proceed we advocate strongly on their behalf to achieve an efficient and beneficial resolution to the legal matter.

John A. Ryder- Burbidge

John Ryder-Burbidge

RETIRED

John A. Ryder- Burbidge: Even though John Ryder-Burbidge went to law school in Toronto and practiced with downtown Toronto law firms from 1986-1997, eventually even he saw the light and moved to Kingston in 1997. He practiced law at Ryder-Burbidge Hurley Foster specializing in civil litigation, in all types of lawsuits in all courts, up to the Supreme Court of Canada. John is now enjoying the things in life even finer than practicing law!

David R. Hurley

David R. Hurley

RETIRED

David failed miserably as a professional athlete, Broadway actor and studio jazz guitar player — there was nothing left to do — so, he graduated from law school in 1977 and began a career as a general practitioner in his hometown of Kingston, serving a broad based clientèle of athletes, actors, musicians, and even some normal folk. He continues to warm and entertain Kingston and area with his dramatic and musical talents!
