Jake joined Ryder-Burbidge Hurley Foster as an Associate lawyer in 2017. He is the primary Family lawyer within the firm and has experience in many areas including divorce, asset division, separation agreements, domestic contracts, and custody applications. In addition to family law, Jake has a broad practice including civil and estate litigation, small claims, employment, and real estate, as well as construction law, contract disputes, and estates litigation. He is focused on finding effective solutions to complex problems and assisting his clients throughout the entire process.

Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Jake found a home in Kingston while competing for the Kingston Voyageurs and attending Queen’s University. After graduating from law school with honours on Australia’s Gold Coast at Bond University, Jake returned to Canada to receive his accreditation. Following his articling placement in Timmins, Ontario and subsequent call to the bar in June 2017, Jake was eager to return to Kingston and establish his practice in a thriving community. He quickly found his place at Ryder-Burbidge Hurley Foster with an excellent team of legal professionals.

Outside of the office/courtroom, Jake is an avid member of the Loyalist Golf and Country Club where he spends most of his summer. Throughout the winter, Jake can be found in men’s league hockey action with the rest of Kingston’s once promising young hockey players. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Frontenac Law Association.
